Sporterized Type 99 Arisaka in 7.7mm Japanese w/ Optic
Sporterized Type 99 Arisaka in 7.7mm Japanese w/ Optic. Overall this rifle is in good condition. The bore is lightly worn with strong lands and grooves. The rifle retains about 60% of its original finish with a sizeable patina present. There are minor handling marks on the stock alongside yellow splattering un the underside of the buttstock (see images). The rifle features a 4x32 SPI optic, a 24 inch barrel. and a five round internal magazine. This rifle was produced by Toyo Kogyo under the direction of Kokura Arsenal. Based on the "ke" block marking, the rifle was of the 31st batch and was produced between the 31st of October 1942 and June of 1943. The original sights have been removed, the stock has been cut down, and the bolt handle has been turned down to a spoon handle as part of the sporterization. This would make an excellent hunting rifle.
