Zastava M57 Tokarev in 7.62x25
Zastava M57 in 7.62x25. Overall this pistol is in very good condition. Mechanically it functions as it should. The bore is bright and mirror like with strong lands and grooves. The slide and barrel have matching serial numbers, however, the serial number on the frame does not match. There is minor finish loss on the slide, which appears to be holster wear. There are very minor handling marks on the slide and frame, as well as the original Zastava grips. The grips feature the Zastava logo on both sides. The left side of the slide is marked with "PW ARMS REDMOND WA, ZASTAVA YUGOSLAVIA", followed by "7.62mm M57". The top of the slide is marked with the Yugoslavian Crest with 6 torches. The manufacturing date for this pistol is unknown, however, was more than likely made in the late 1960's to early 1970's. This pistol features a thumb safety. It includes three 9-round magazines. The Zastava M57 is essentially a copy of the Soviet TT-33 Tokarev, with a few changes. The most noticeable difference is a 9 round magazine capacity on the M57 versus the 8-round capacity on the Soviet TT-33. Minor changes include: the addition of a magazine safety, a dovetailed front sight that is adjustable for windage, and finally, the top of the slide was serrated to reduce glare. The M57 also included several internal changes. This would be great to add to your surplus firearm collection.
