Firearms Notice: Out of state sales or shipment of firearms manufactured after Jan. 1st, 1899 require a Federal Firearms License (“FFL”) or shipment to a FFL of your choice. Additionally, you must be 18 years old to purchase a long gun, and 21 years old with a valid Purchase or Concealed Handgun Permit to purchase a handgun.  Please also see the “State Specific Restrictions” below.

 

Transfers: Handguns - Must be at least 21 years of age to pickup/purchase, and requires a valid NC Concealed Handgun Permit or NC Handgun Purchase Permit with a valid NC driver's license that matches.

Antique Firearms - It is our policy to charge a fee for antique firearms that are sent to us for transfer. Customer must be at least 18 years of age to receive/purchase any long gun.

In the event that you have a transfer sent through us for pickup and you CANNOT take ownership of the item (Whether the reason is a denied sale as a result of a failed background check OR if you purchase an item of which you are not the legal age to purchase) there will still be a transfer fee required for the transaction.

Bull Moose Guns accepts payment as pre-approved checks, bank certified checks and U.S. Postal Money Orders. Orders paid for with checks are subject to being held at the discretion of Bull Moose Guns until funds have cleared. Items will ship the following business day after payment is accepted.

 

Terms of Sale: All firearms are sold under Federal law and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (“BATF”) rules. It is our policy that we do not sell any antique firearm to any person under the age of 18.

Factory New firearms may be returned to the manufacturer for defects.

 

Used firearms, unless stated otherwise, are believed to be functional; however they are not tested, fired or reviewed by a Gunsmith.

The buyer of a firearm assumes all responsibility for its proper care and safe storage. Bull Moose Guns strongly recommends the use of trigger locks on every firearm.

 

Any used firearm being offered for sale on this website or at the retail store by Bull Moose Guns is As-Is and has not been test fired, unless otherwise noted.

 

There are no refunds on ammo. There are no refunds on Lay-a-way items or holds.

Lay-a-way/ Holds: Bull Moose Guns allows for a sixty (60) day Lay-a-way/ Holds on items over $500.00 USD. The terms of the Lay-a-way/ Holds policy is as follows:

 

Any item over $500.00 USD maybe be placed on Lay-a-way or Held for a maximum time period of sixty (60) calendar days with 1/3 down on the day the item is Laid-a-way or Held, 1/3 in the middle of the period and 1/3 final payment on or before the expiration of the sixty (60) days. Should you not pay for your item you requested to be Laid-a-way or Held within the specified time period, the item is returned to circulation and there is no refund of any amount that has been previously paid. Again there are no returns, refunds or exchanges on Lay-a-way/ Holds items or deposits on Lay-a-way/ Holds.

 

Consignment Terms: Bull Moose Guns is happy to consign any item that we feel meets our quality control standards. Bull Moose Guns reserves the right to refuse any items for any reason or no reason at all. Bull Moose Guns is fully insured against loss. The consignor assumes all risks associated with consignment.

 

Items that are accepted on consignment are sold on these terms, the consignor and consignee agree on a selling price. Bull Moose Guns may charge up to 25% of the total selling value depending on the item, however we often charge a lower consignment fee for multiple or high ticket ($1,500.00+) items. Specific consignment fee arrangements will be quoted on an individual basis; full paper copies of our consignment terms are available at our retail store. Consignors will be paid as soon as the item is sold and payment is received.

 

Purchasing and Trades: Bull Moose Guns is always looking to purchase firearms and militaria. Bull Moose Guns trys to pay a fair wholesale price for any item we feel meets our standards. We will and have traveled at our expense to evaluate a single item or an entire collection. Bull Moose Guns seeks to have a long lasting friendly relationship with anyone who wishes to sell us any item no matter the outcome of the transaction.

 

Trading is a long established custom of this business. Naturally, Bull Moose Guns will consider trades on any item in our inventory. It is our policy that all trades must be evaluated in person to protect both Bull Moose Guns and our possible client. Therefore, if you are interested in trading an item to us, it is solely your responsibility to safely bring the item to us for evaluation.

 

Gunsmithing: Gunsmithing shop rate is $80.00/hour. Any Firearm left over 90 days after last contact with the owner, will become property of Bull Moose Guns, and will be sold to pay for gunsmithing services

 

NRA MODERN GUN CONDITION STANDARDS:

• NEW: Not previously sold at retail, in same condition as current factory production.

• AS NEW or MINT IN BOX: In New condition in every respect. 

• EXCELLENT: New condition, used but little, no noticeable marring of wood or metal, bluing perfect, (except at muzzle or sharp edges).

• VERY GOOD: In perfect working condition, no appreciable wear on working surfaces, no corrosion or pitting, only minor surface dents or scratches.

• GOOD: In safe working condition, minor wear on working surfaces, no broken parts, no corrosion or pitting that will interfere with proper functioning.

 

• FAIR: In safe working condition but well worn, perhaps requiring replacement of minor parts or adjustments which should be indicated in advertisement, no rust, but may have corrosion pits which do not render article unsafe or inoperable.

 

NRA ANTIQUE FIREARM CONDITIONS STANDARDS:

• FACTORY NEW: All original parts; 100% original finish; in perfect condition in every respect, inside and out.

• EXCELLENT: All original parts; over 80% original finish; sharp lettering, numerals and design on metal and wood; unmarred wood; fine bore.

• FINE: All original parts; over 30% original finish; sharp lettering, numerals and design on metal and wood; minor marks in wood; good bore.

• VERY GOOD: All original parts; none to 30% original finish; original metal surfaces smooth with all edges sharp; clear lettering, numerals and design on metal; wood slightly scratched or bruised; bore disregarded for collectors firearms.

• GOOD: Some minor replacement parts; metal smoothly rusted or lightly pitted in places, cleaned or re-blued; principal letters, numerals and design on metal legible; wood refinished, scratched bruised or minor cracks repaired; in good working order.

• FAIR: Some major parts replaced; minor replacement parts may be required; metal rusted, may be lightly pitted all over, vigorously cleaned or re-blued; rounded edges of metal and wood; principal lettering, numerals and design on metal partly obliterated; wood scratched, bruised, cracked or repaired where broken; in fair working order or can be easily repaired and placed in working order.

AR stripped lower receivers will NOT be shipped to the following states:

Complete AR lower receivers will NOT be shipped to the following states:

Non-Compliant models will NOT be shipped to the following states:

California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York

 

State Specific Magazine Restrictions: Bull Moose Guns will not ship high capacity magazines (those greater than 10 rounds) with firearms to the states listed below. We will not replace high capacity magazines with state compliant magazines. We do not offer refunds in place of the magazines.

 

Magazine restrictions apply to the following areas:

California - no magazines greater than 10 rounds

Colorado - no magazines greater than 15 rounds, effective July 1st, 2013

Connecticut - 10 Rounds and less with a valid permit.

Hawaii - no magazines greater than 10 rounds

Illinois - North Chicago, no rifle magazines greater than 16 rounds. Cities: Aurora, Skokie, Chicago, Evanston no rifle magazines greater than 15 rounds. Highland Park, Cook County, Dolton, Homewood no rifle magazines greater than 10 rounds

Maryland - no magazines greater than 10 rounds October 1st, 2013

New Jersey - no magazines greater than 15 rounds

New York - no magazines greater than 10 rounds Massachusetts - no magazines greater than 10 rounds

Ohio - no magazines greater than 30 rounds

 

Ammunition Restrictions: Bull Moose Guns abides by all state regulations regarding the sale of ammunition. You must be at least 21 years of age (for handgun ammunition) or 18 years of age (for rifle ammunition).

Ammunition restrictions apply to the following areas:

Massachusetts: No Sales

Washington DC: No Sales.

Alaska: No Sales. Ammunition must be shipped to a freight forwarder.

Hawaii: No Sales. Ammunition must be shipped to a freight forwarder.

Connecticut: No sales without a valid permit.

Maryland: No Sales to the City of Annapolis and Montgomery County

California: No Sales to the cities of Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento and San Francisco.

Illinois: No Sales to the city of Chicago. All other Illinois residents must email us a copy of their FOID card in addition to their State ID. Ammunition must ship to an address on one of these ID's.

New York: No Sales to New York City, or its five Burroughs. Starting January 1st, 2014 all ammunition must be sent to a FFL.

New Jersey: When ordering ammunition commonly used in a handgun/to be used in a handgun, email us a copy of your Firearms ID. We will only ship to the address on the FID.
